This grand ancient 98-year-old building
has mirrored Baba’s refrain that opposition is a necessary part of any endeavor. It was built to persevere, but for some time has not received the attention it required to maintain its grandeur. Under Peter Nordeen’s direction and with MAC’s commitment we have made every effort to refurbish and nurture this space to meet a level of excellence befitting the Avatar. It’s being built to last. Every inch of this building has received a scrutiny and level of attention to insure it is up to the highest standards.
The archival rooms were finished and now provide safe and secure spaces which now house sacred items related to the advent of the Avatar of the Age, Meher Baba. Much of the labor on the job was tedious, meticulous, and time-consuming. It was immensely more challenging than building something new from scratch. But the results are, we believe, immensely more gratifying, economically much less expensive, and of a higher quality. The building has charm and is as solid as a rock—built to last. A rock into which we can all pour our hearts and love into as it becomes a sacred place of pilgrimage for humanity to receive the Grace and Love of the Ancient One. Much of this infrastructure is relevant for both phase two and phase three and render those phases much easier and quicker to finish. We can all be proud and excited to witness the transformation taking place at the Meher Archive Center building. |
MAC—Support the Vision
Financial — a donation at this time will bring us one step closer to completing the infrastructure required to move MAC archival projects into the MAC building, and another step closer to the realization of a dynamic hub for Meher Baba. Volunteer — the work at the MAC building has entered a new and exciting phase—we are looking for people in the nearby community and remotely who can help out, even for a few hours a week. There are on-site jobs from office and archival work to housekeeping. Numerous volunteer opportunities are available remotely as well. We are thrilled that Phase One of the reconstruction of the Red Oak School is finished.
