Meher Archive has recently been given the letters, slides, notes, and manuscripts of Fred and Ella Winterfeldt (or Fredella, as Baba called them) by the heirs of Marshall Hay, who was entrusted with them by Fred himself. We are currently in the early stages of sorting, rehousing, digitizing and restoring, but this promises to be a significant treasure trove of letters from Baba via His close mandali as well as photographs of Baba that may not be part of any other collection.
But first, who were Fred and Ella? To answer that, we turn to those who knew them well. |

Slide photo restoration.
Fred Winterfeldt had about four slide carosels worth of photos of Baba trips and sahavas programs. MAC is making high resolution scans of each and you can see that some sort of environmental moisture damage requires hours of painstaking digital restoration to remove these marks. This is Baba very amused with Eruch Jessawala during the Three Incredible Weeks, India 1954.
